Figma Make-a-thon Chennai: Round Two
24 October 2026 · YuniQ, 5 CSIR Road, Chennai
Presented by Friends of Figma Chennai × VibeLab. Free to attend.
August's Make-a-thon was solo. This one isn't. Round Two runs the same format — spin two random words, prompt your way to something that works in Figma Make, share it with the room if you feel like it — with one change that makes it a lot more fun: you'll be building in teams of three to four, formed on the spot.
No pre-made groups. You walk in, you get grouped, you figure each other out fast. That constraint does something interesting. You have to agree on a direction in the first five minutes, split the work, and merge it into one thing — which is, awkwardly, much closer to real product work than any solo build.
Again: no judging, no voting, no winners. Sharing at the end is entirely optional.
On VibeLab, every checked-in participant can vote for 3 projects.
Been to the August edition? The format will feel familiar, but teams change the whole texture of the evening. Completely new to Figma Make? Also perfect — we run a full walkthrough before anyone builds, and being on a team means you've always got someone to ask.
AI credits are provided for this session, so your team can prompt and iterate as much as you need.
What you'll walk away with
- A team build, from prompt to working demo, in 75 minutes
- Hands-on Figma Make skills — prompting, iterating, troubleshooting together
- Practice explaining something you made to a room, briefly without pressure
- Three or four new people you now know properly, plus mentor time
- Snacks, music, and a genuinely good Saturday morning
Who this is for
Anyone with a laptop and a Figma account. Designers, developers, students, founders, and the merely curious. Come alone — genuinely, that's the better move here, since you'll be grouped anyway and solo attendees end up meeting the most people.
What to bring
- A laptop per person
- Charger — and a power strip if you bring one, you'll be a hero
- A Figma account you're already signed into
Organizers
- Sandeep Baskaran — IBM, Figma Community Advocate
